Pre-Planning Funeral

Gary Teate Pre-Need Counselor

Did you know that over 60% of the families we serve have never made any plans for their final wishes?  Did you know that over 97% of those who did make their pre-arrangements found the process so much easier?  It is true… pre-planning your funeral will save your family the heartache of making all those decisions.

Here at Mayes Ward-Dobbins we employ only the best in Funeral Directors and their main goal everyday is to make sure the family is well taken care of and the arrangement process is as easy as possible.  A good funeral director can help direct you to the questions that need to be answered but a Great Funeral Director can help you make the best decisions in the simplest way possible.  The most common phrase we hear from a family at the conclusion of the arrangement conference is that “You have made this so easy”.  That is our goal… for you to leave here fully confident in the decisions that you have made without the headache.  When we sit down with a family there is over 200 questions that have to be answered, but we as funeral directors at Mayes Ward-Dobbins can alleviate so many of those questions when we personalize the arrangement conference for you.

“So if the process is so easy then why should we pre-plan our funeral?”

Many families think its because the funeral home wants to “sell” funerals… but here that is just not the case.  Most of our pre-planned funerals have not been pre-funded but yet all their wishes are written down on paper.  If you remember our main goal as funeral directors at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home is to simplify the process and that is why we stress pre-planning your wishes.  It is the absolute best way for your surviving family members to carry on your wishes, because they are already planned out and honestly it makes our “jobs” so much easier knowing that you can feel confident about moving forward with the decisions already made.  With pre-planning your family does not have to make the tough decisions and plan all the minor details of your service.  Some people think they are doing their family good by making the statement, “Just bury me in the back yard, I don’t need all the fuss” when in fact this leaves the family to answer many questions for legal purposes, disposition purposes, etc.  Just by simply spending 30 minutes with a funeral director or simply filling out our online pre-arrangement form you could have left your family with no difficult decisions to be made.

As stated earlier, this can still be accomplished without pre-planning your funeral but there is a reason why 97% of our families found it easier since they have pre-planned.  Gary Teate is our person who specializes in making these pre-planning decisions and he is available at anytime to answer any questions you may have before you meet with him or a funeral director.  He carries the same goal set by our funeral directors, to help you simplify the process and leave having no questions unanswered.

So now the question is… Who is going to make your final arrangements?  Take the steps listed above and leave your family with the greatest gift… Peace of Mind.
