What is Mayes Ward-Dobbins doing for COVID-19?

The Novel Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is affecting the daily lives of citizens, schools, graduations, businesses, as well as the funeral industry. This is uncharted territory for everyone, and we are all doing the best we can to follow government recommendations and protocols. Some of you may be wondering what Mayes Ward-Dobbins is doing to keep the community safe while still serving the community when needed.

The staff at Mayes Ward-Dobbins is practicing social distancing as it has been urged by public health authorities. We are also disinfecting doorways, light switches, restrooms, and doing routine cleaning in the building. Our focus is to continue to have a safe and clean environment for our community to come together and remember friends and loved ones.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had a couple families decide to postpone services that had previously been scheduled. We are keeping our website up to date with any changes in times or postponements. We encourage you to keep a close check on our website for any changes.

During this time, we are strongly encouraging families to use our Live Stream services. This will enable families to still have a service with immediate family at the funeral home, but relatives and friends can watch the service from home just as though they are actually present. They will still be able to sign the guest book online, view photo galleries (if available by the family), send flowers, and send cards to the funeral home for the family, if desired.

Another option during this pandemic, is to have an immediate family only viewing at the funeral home followed by a graveside service. This would allow the family to get the closure they need as well as a few close friends and family to attend a service.

Mayes Ward-Dobbins understands how important it is to have a service to remember your loved one. We are here to help you during this time. We want to help the best we can follow through with your wishes even considering the circumstances of COVID-19. The staff of Mayes Ward-Dobbins would like to extend our sincere appreciation to those in the healthcare industry as well as our heartfelt condolences to those affected by COVID-19. We understand that offering support to our community is needed now more than ever.
