Mayes Ward-Dobbins Outreach Program

Mayes Ward-Dobbins Outreach Program

Our Outreach program has been getting a lot of attention as of late.  We are so honored and proud to serve this community and we developed this program just to give back to those who support us and who support this community.  This program has already reached over 100 people with only being six months old and we could not be more proud of where it is heading!

Mayes Ward-Dobbins has always been a proud supporter of the community but we wanted to go a step further.  We decided after many conversations that we could do something more personal in our giving to truly touch more people for the sole reason of saying “Thank You”.  The question has been asked, “Who would you thank since you are the service provider, don’t people thank you?”  The short answer is Yes, we receive letters, cards, emails, baskets and other forms of thanks every single day (and we are so Thankful)… but this is different.  We understand as a funeral service provider that we could not commit to the level of service our families deserve and are used too without the help from others.  This includes Clergy, Church Staff, Catering Homes, Nursing Staff, Hospice Facilities, Vital Records Staff, Vendors, Law Enforcement, EMS and many others.  We are so blessed to be surrounded by a community of wonderful caring groups and individuals that all play a role in the success of Mayes Ward-Dobbins.  Most people really only see the funeral service for what it is and when we perform at our very best the funeral home gets the praise for doing such a wonderful job, when in fact the Church we are conducting the service at has poured hours into cleaning, opening doors and providing personnel to make sure the family is cared for, the Clergy has worked tirelessly in preparing a service that honors the life perfectly, the law enforcement officers have been sitting in the harsh weather waiting for the procession to leave and put their own safety at risk just to get the family to the cemetery, etc….  I could go on and on but I hope that you get the message that we are trying say… it takes a lot of good people to make a great service!

Through our Outreach program these are the community supporter’s that we are thanking.  There are no sales pitches, gimmicks or anything else related to that… we are there only to say “Thank You”.  In the south it is proper to say “Thank You” with food and there is no shortage of that once we show up!  We love to spoil the receiver’s of this program with endless amounts of treats and we always leave people with a smile on their face.  It’s amazing how just saying “Thank You” with a treat can turn someones day completely around!

Jerry Turner is the team member that heads up this program so be on the lookout… he could be stopping by very soon!  From the Pendley Family and all of us at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home we want to say “Thank You” to all those who support our families with love and care.  We want you to know that your hard work does not go unnoticed!
